Wind variable 10 to 15 knots increasing to southeast 35 this morning and to southeast 45 this afternoon. Wind veering to southwest 25 to 35 this evening then increasing to southwest 35 to 45 Thursday morning. Wind increasing to southwest 50 near noon Thursday then diminishing to west 35 to 45 Thursday evening.

Snow changing to rain and fog patches this afternoon then to flurries after midnight. Visibility 1 mile or less in precipitation and in fog patches.

Freezing spray warning in effect.

Over open water freezing spray overnight and Thursday except severe freezing spray over western sections Thursday morning and afternoon.

Temperatures minus 10 to minus 2 rising to minus 1 to plus 3 this evening then falling to minus 10 to minus 2 Thursday morning.

Issued 3:00 AM NST 24 January 2018 Today Tonight and Thursday At 3:00 a.m. NST today ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over Belle Isle Bank.
By 10:00 a.m. NST today departing ridge located northeast of the
Marine District.

At 3:00 a.m. NST today deepening low 988 mb located over northern
New Brunswick.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Thursday low 970 mb located northeast of Lake
Melville.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:48 AM NST 24 January 2018 A deepening low pressure system is expected to track through the Gulf
of St. Lawrence this morning and across Southeastern Labrador this
evening. Strong to gale force southeasterlies ahead of the low will
veer to gale to storm force southwesterlies in its wake.

Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Belle Isle Bank. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining
waters.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except the South Coast and the Grand Banks.
