Issued 10:00 AM NST 23 January 2018 Today Tonight and Wednesday At 10:00 a.m. NST today quasi-stationary low 966 mb located
southeast of Greenland.

At 10:00 a.m. NST today ridge located over Cabot Strait.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Wednesday ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over Funk Island Bank.

At 3:00 a.m. NST Wednesday approaching low 986 mb located over
New Brunswick.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:44 AM NST 23 January 2018 An intense low pressure system southeast of Greenland will remain
nearly stationary today as a ridge of high pressure builds from the
southwest. Strong to gale force west to northwesterlies between these
two features will will gradually diminish today as the ridge becomes
the dominant feature.

Another low is expected to track through the Gulf of St. Lawrence on
Wednesday. Strong to gale force southeasterlies will develop tonight
ahead of the low and veer to strong to gale force southwesterlies in
its wake.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except the Southeastern Grand Banks.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except Gulf - Port au Port, Southwest Coast,
South Coast, and the Grand Banks.
