at 4:00 p.m. NST Friday 19 January 2018 for tonight and Saturday.
The next scheduled synopsis will be issued at 9:30 p.m. NST.

Systems position.
At 4:00 p.m. NST today intensifying trough located on a line
northwest-southeast over Labrador Sea.
By 4:00 p.m. NST Saturday trough located on a line east-west over
Labrador Sea.

At 4:00 p.m. NST today ridge located over western Labrador.
By 4:00 p.m. NST Saturday ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over eastern Labrador.

Marine weather statement for Labrador issued by Environment Canada at
3:54 P.M. NST Friday 19 January 2018.

An intensifying trough of low pressure will persist over the Labrador
Sea throughout the forecast period. As the trough deepens, strong to
gale force easterlies will develop over northeastern waters, while
strong to gale force westerlies to northwesterlies will develop to
its west and south.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
North Labrador Coast and the Labrador Sea.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all open waters except East Labrador Sea.
