Snowfall warning in effect for:

  • Highway 3 - Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass

Snowfall, with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm is expected.

An approaching Pacific frontal system will move across the BC southern interior tonight.

Over Highway 3 - Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass, snow will start early this evening and become heavier late this evening. The heavy snow will continue through early Thursday morning before tapering off to a few flurries.

Total snowfall accumulations of 10 to 20 cm can be expected by Thursday morning.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. For information on emergency plans and kits go to http://www.getprepared.gc.ca/
