Freezing rain warning in effect for:

  • Central Okanagan - including Kelowna
  • North Okanagan - including Vernon
  • South Okanagan - including Penticton

Freezing rain is expected or occurring.

Pockets of freezing rain expected Tuesday morning.

An approaching Pacific system will spread warm, moist air over a thin layer of arctic air trapped in the southern interior valleys Tuesday morning. Precipitation will fall as freezing rain initially then quickly transition back to snow or rain as a cooler air moves in aloft.

For South Thompson, central and southern Okanagan, and West Kootenay region the freezing rain is more likely over higher elevation where temperatures remain below the freezing mark.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.

Freezing rain is expected or occurring.

Fog advisory in effect for:

  • Okanagan Connector - Merritt to Kelowna

Near zero visibility in fog is expected or occurring over some areas.

A stagnant weather pattern is giving rise to areas of dense fog along the highway. The fog is expected to persist through tonight and likely dissipate early Tuesday morning.

If travelling, be prepared for areas of near-zero visibility.

Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.
