Alerts for: Parson's Pond - Hawke's Bay

Warnings

3:50 PM NST Tuesday 23 January 2018
Rainfall warning in effect for:

  • Parson's Pond - Hawke's Bay

Rainfall, combined with melting snow, is expected. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.

Rainfall amounts of 10 to 20 mm are expected with up to 30 mm over higher elevations.

Rain, at times heavy, is forecast to develop overnight tonight or early Wednesday morning and will begin to taper off Wednesday afternoon.

Some areas along the Humber River and in the Bonne Bay area remain sensitive to water levels and erosion. The public is advised to watch for notices from local authorities, as it is unclear what effect more rain and another thaw will have in vulnerable areas.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
