Freezing rain warning in effect for:

  • Bruce Peninsula - Sauble Beach - Tobermory

Freezing rain is likely today and tonight.

Over southern portions of the Bruce Peninsula, mainly rain is expected today and tonight as temperatures will be just above the freezing mark.

However, over northern portions of the Bruce Peninsula, temperatures are expected to remain near or just below the freezing mark today and into Tuesday. These areas as a result may receive freezing rain at times today, tonight and Tuesday morning.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.

Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Hanover - Dundalk - Southern Grey County
  • Saugeen Shores - Kincardine - Southern Bruce County

Rainy weather giving 15 to 25 mm today and tonight.

Periods of rain will affect much of southwestern Ontario today and tonight. The rain may occasionally fall heavily at times, although there may also be significant breaks in the precipitation from time to time as well.

In the winter when the ground is frozen, rainfall warning are issued when rainfall amounts in excess of 25 mm within 24 hours are expected. At this point, it appears that most areas will not exceed those values, although a general 15 to 25 mm is likely.

The area is being monitored for potential rainfall warnings.
